The Ticino Ticket was launched in 2017. The is issued to guests staying in hotels, youth hostels or campsites in Ticino region. The ticket gives unlimited travel on the public transport network of buses and trains as well as numerous discounts on mountain railways, boat trips and on main tourist attractions in the region. With use of the Ticino Ticket it is possible to collect data about tourists staying in the region, for example information about number of tickets issued per accommodation category, list of top ten attractions visited by tourists, data on demographic features of visitors: age range, language spoken, country of origin, canton of origin.
