The GastroSuisse Industry Barometer provides a compact overview of the most important key figures from the hospitality industry in Switzerland. The overview is online and is updated every three months. In each case, it shows the percentage deviation from the same quarter of the previous year, which enables a seasonally adjusted comparison. The compilation is based on data from the KOF survey, the national consumer price index (CPI), the accommodation statistics (HESTA) and the employment barometer (SECO).

The "Survey on Business Activity in Hospitality Industry" has been conducted for over ten years in collaboration with the Swiss Institute for Business Cycle Research (KOF) at ETH Zurich and serves as an important barometer of the industry's performance. The survey is conducted every three months with over 300 companies throughout Switzerland. It provides important data on key figures such as turnover, sales, demand or employment and differentiates between the tourism areas: "mountain areas", "large cities", "lake areas" and "other areas".
