About
Tourism data inventory
The website www.tourismdata.ch serves as the catalogue of metadata of the most important data sources for Swiss tourism. The aim of the website is to make tourism data findable and to grow awareness about its potential use in tourism.
The metadata inventory includes information about tourism relevant data and consists of existing sources and initiatives as well as additional data needs unveiled during the project. The metadata catalogue includes both open and closed data sources.
The tourism metadata catalogue is the first step in building the National Data Infrastructure for Tourism (NaDIT) that is developed within the Resilient Tourism Flagship Project. NaDIT aims to compile foundation for future data-informed decisions. The project ensures the cooperation of tourism data users, data providers and data subjects in a legal and technically trusthworthy manner. Moreover, tourism data infrastructure will serve the improvement and development of tourism services and establishing new business models. One of the goals of the project is to develop use cases and show how data could serve business purposes.
